Estate Wild Boar Hunts

Thursday, March 31st, 2011

For the most SAVAGE of adventures…

… our wild boars can make the most seasoned hunter turn tale and run.

Our new and large enclosure now house some of North Americas purest Wild Boars.  Straight from the San Diego zoos breeding program, our boars are from one of the purest gene pools in the world, as nature intended them to be with no domestic blood, and we intend to keep them this way.

These elusive and very aggressive boars can reach over 250 lbs and are very challenging when it comes to estate hunting.  There was a time when Noblemen and Kings were the exclusive stalkers of these fearsome beasts.  Well known and sought after in Russia and Western Europe,  only recently have they made their way to Alberta.

Wild boars are some of the best table-fair available anywhere, and much more entertaining then your local meat department. We have boars for sale for breeding, hunting and meat – as well as guided trophy boar hunting on a trophy fee basis. You will be treated like royalty hunting from our lodge, in our heavily forested enclosures.

We prefer bow hunting for the added challenge but rifle, cross-bow, spear, dart and muzzle loader hunters are welcome too.  Regardless of your preference of weapon, due to the nature of these animals – “at your own risk” – is the key phrase.

These hunts can be added to any of our other trophy hunts or available year round on there own. Prices of Trophy boars will vary depending on size.

Estate Sheep Hunts

Thursday, March 31st, 2011

Another addition to our estate hunting operation are select groups of exotic sheep.

We now have three varieties which are bred for their horn growth, and plan to add more breeds in the near future.

Our most common are the Barbados or Black bellied sheep, commonly called Corsican Rams. We also have Jacobs sheep commonly called Four horn Rams.  Also in our breeding program we have Rare Afghani Carcal Rams.

These sheep are also available to any trophy hunter as well as breeders, or for meat. The sheep are feral throughout our enclosure and quite elusive and challenging for any hunter. Again we prefer bow hunters in our enclosure but also welcome rifle and muzzle loader hunters.

This is a great hunt for new or young hunters as well as handy-capped hunters wanting a trophy ram. Prices vary on individual rams according to age, size, and breed from $300-$800 as well as cull rams and ewes for meat starting at $100.

A lodge fee also applies to hunters just hunting exotics of $100/day including food, lodging and guide. This will not apply to hunters already on regular trophy hunts.

Alberta Moose

Thursday, March 31st, 2011

Looking for big Canadian bull moose, check us out. We have trophy moose 40”-55” and have seen larger. This is due to Alberta’s new moose management program and it’s making moose hunting magic. All moose tags are now on draw for residents and has very limited guaranteed tags for non-residents. We typically hunt the forest and bogs for these majestic swamp monsters. Most moose hunts are conducted from stands, stalking, and calling during rut.

Bow hunts begin in late August and run through October

Rifle (or any weapon) hunts run in November

Alberta Elk

Thursday, March 31st, 2011

Elk are awesome, the most majestic of the deer species, and in my opinion the most exciting and challenging hunt you can go on.   If you have ever heard an elk bugle you know what I’m talking about and if you haven’t your missing out.   In our area we have elk in the 260”-350” class and are restricted to 3 or 6 points or larger depending on zones to increase the age structure of our ever expanding herds. Elk hunts are conducted using tree stands, stalking and calling during rut. “NEW JET BOAT HUNT NOW AVAILABLE”

Bow hunts run from late August through Oct,

Rifle (or any weapon) run from late September through November

Alberta Mule Deer

Thursday, March 31st, 2011

Alberta is a sleeper for great mule deer and we have some monsters. Most of Alberta is on draw for mule deer and with limited pressure and great habitat big bucks result. We have mule deer in the 140”-200” class and our clients usually see large herds. Most mule deer hunts are conducted by stalking or stand hunting near crop land or logging blocks. If you’re looking for a massive Muley look no further.

Bow Hunts run from late August to the end of October.

Hunts with other weapons run through November.

Alberta Whitetail Deer

Thursday, March 31st, 2011

Alberta is renowned for its large whitetail deer, tipping the scales at well over 300 lbs and our area is no exception. We have whitetail bucks in the 130”-200” class and our clients usually see a couple of these giants within range each week along with smaller bucks and does. All of our whitetail hunts are conducted from tree stands or ground blinds, hunting crop or timber country. If a trophy whitetail is what you are after then Alberta is the place to hunt.

Bow Hunts run from late August to the end of October.

Hunts with other weapons run through November.

Alberta Big Horn Sheep

Thursday, March 31st, 2011

This area is one of Alberta’s most scenic, and by far has produced more P&Y bighorns than any were else in North America – not to mention a few B&C rams.

For bighorn sheep with no draw required for non-residents this is any archers best option in harvesting a mature bighorn ram in an archery only hunting zone.  Savage Encounters, Inc. has just obtained the use of 2 of these highly sought permits and are now offering the hunt of a lifetime.

You will start this “Big Ram” adventure in September or October, for up to 20 days.  BUT WAIT -  If you aren’t successful,  you can return for the rut in November.  That’s right… there’s no “typo”.  You can return again!!!  We’re so proud of our Alberta Big Horns that we’ve done what no other outfitter has ever done.  Offer you a Second Chance!

Time, patients and an aggressive nature are needed to hunt these mountain monarchs successfully.  We’ve seen what’s out there, and we know what it takes to put you on to one. A Sheep,  A BIG SHEEP,  A RECORD BOOK SHEEP.

We will hunt undisturbed rams in the early season when the weather is favorable, if not successful you will return for the rut. Your guides and outfitter are all experienced sheep hunters and Archers who will put their hearts into the hunt and spirits on the mountain.

Alberta Grey Wolf

Thursday, March 31st, 2011

If you are up to a challenge this is the hunt for you.  Wolves are the “Ghosts of the Rockies”, and Alberta’s hardest trophy. They are big (up to 180 lbs) and smart, these crafty canines don’t come easy, but well worth the patients. We combine wolf hunts with coyote hunting and ice fishing. My favorite words come into play here “no bag limit” so when the chance comes don’t stop shooting. Wolf Hunts are conducted using heated blinds over bait and calling. We are Alberta’s Premier wolf outfitters taking more wolf hunters than any other outfitters.

Alberta Black Bear

Thursday, March 31st, 2011

Hunting black bear in Alberta, makes for one of most beautiful and scenic hunts available in the world.  Many of our black bears are off-color, the days are long and the fishing is good. Black bear hunting is the ultimate thrill and with a high success rate and 2 bear limit, bear hunting is a sure-fire way to have a “Savage Encounter”. Wolf hunts are always included with bear, and grey wolves are very active this time of year. We offer bait and spot and stalk hunts in the fall from the Savage lodge and spring black bear hunts in Northern Alberta with The Bear Company.
